About

Welcome to Abiding Foundations!
A ministry committed to truth without compromise.

In a world adrift in confusion and compromise, Abiding Foundations stands firmly on the unshakable truth of God’s Word. This site exists to proclaim and defend sound doctrine, rooted in the full counsel of God’s revelation found in the 66 books of Scripture.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are committed to a complete dependency on Him. With conviction and clarity, I hold to and articulate a biblical worldview shaped by the five points of Calvinism, soft-progressive dispensationalism, and presuppositional apologetics.

I believe theology and apologetics matter—because God has spoken. His truth is unchanging, not subject to revision, and must be defended without compromise. Whether addressing the gospel of sovereign grace, God’s unfolding plan through the covenants and kingdom program, the authority of Scripture, or the lordship of Christ—my aim is to equip, challenge, and encourage believers to stand firm in these essential biblical truths.

About Myself

My name is Ian Hicks, and I was born and raised in Canada. I hold an advanced diploma in Environmental Technology. More importantly, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and have been walking with Him since 1999. I’m blessed to be married to my wonderful wife, Esther Citlali, and together we have a beautiful daughter, Eliana.

History of Website

I originally created For the Sake of the Truth in June 2020 as a place to organize and store the WordPad notes I had been collecting on my phone over several years. At the time, the site functioned more as a personal archive than a focused ministry platform.

In August 2025, the website was rebranded as Abiding Foundations. With continued use and reflection (thank you Peter Goeman), I came to see the potential and need for a more intentional effort—shifting from simply storing thoughts to actively equipping others in the biblical truths I hold dear.
