Coming Soon: The Words of the Covenant: A Biblical Theology Vol 2 – By P. Henebury

Keep your eyes peeled for the second volume of Paul Henebury’s two volume series, The Words of the Covenant: A Biblical Theology (Volume 2 – New Testament Continuation). It will be an excellent addition to any works you have on the biblical covenants.

Recommended Dispensational Resources

In this blog post I hope to highlight some recommended dispensational resources. I have found over the years that it was difficult to bring together a list of this magnitude due in part to the scattering of various resources. It isn’t always easy to know where to look or what resources are of any value, there is so much literature to wade through that it can be tedious. Please share this around and I hope it will be used as a guide to know what books and resources I recommend for those who want to seriously study dispensational theology in more depth.

Douglas Wilson – Mark and Avoid!

“Whatever things good and true Wilson has written or said over the years are unfortunately overshadowed by his erroneous teachings, pastoral missteps, and uncouth language.  One might say, “Read him, but with a healthy measure of discernment.”  However, when a pastor cannot be relied upon to teach something as basic as justification correctly, it is more apropos to steer people away entirely.  When a pastor displays a pattern of foolishness which constantly creates controversies and divisions, it is best to warn the saints to avoid such a man (Rom.16:17).  Because, when everything is accounted for, Doug Wilson has nothing to offer that can’t be found elsewhere from wiser and more trustworthy sources.”

Christians, I love each of you and want you to be warned about Douglas Wilson. I have put together a lengthy document compiling the reasons I see that we need to flee from such a man. Please make sure to share with others to warn them of the background of Douglas Wilson.

Written Debate Challenge – Epistemologically Charged Truths for Theologically Inclined Youths

On Oct 5th, 2023 Epistemologically Charged Truths for Theologically Inclined Youths was publicly challenged to a discussion surrounding dispensationalism. It was asked for one of the page owners (Josiah) to bring forth his best arguments against dispensationalism in a written format for discussion.

An Analysis of Commonly Used Synergistic Proof Texts

It is my hope to provide commentary on some of the commonly used synergistic proof texts and provide answers as to how a Calvinist would address each of these texts. These texts have often been appealed to by synergists to attack the notion of God’s sovereignty in salvation or to attack the Calvinistic doctrine of Soteriology (TULIP). I pray this document provides an opportunity for engagement and sharpening!

The texts that are evaluated in the document are:

Matthew 23:37
John 1:12
John 3:16
John 12:32
Acts 7:51
Romans 11:32
Colossians 2:12
1 Timothy 2:1-6
1 Timothy 4:10
Titus 2:11
Hebrews 2:9
2 Peter 2:1
2 Peter 3:9
1 John 2:2

A New Position Corporately – An Exegetical Analysis of Ephesians 2:11-22

Ephesians 2:11-22 is a text that I have wanted to write on for some time. I believe it is necessary to address a common text used by Covenantalists to argue against Dispensationalism. I believe that Covenantalists have glossed over the details of the texts in an attempt to blur together Israel and the Church. This analysis of the text hopes to bring together and weave the concept of the new position given to the Gentiles.

Written Debate Challenge – Ross Chenault

A written debate challenge was issued to Ross Chenault on the topic of Calvinism on October 16th, 2022. Ross has repeatedly attacked Calvinism on his Facebook wall, misrepresenting us on numerous occasions.

Since October 16th, 2022 Ross has repeatedly avoided providing any written documents to me countering our position. He continues to post on his Facebook daily, attacking Calvinism but has not taken the time to write me something. He claimed that he will, but at this point, I doubt we will likely see a well-written articulation of why Calvinism is wrong.

My standing offer to discuss Calvinism is here when Ross is ready to provide us with an actual articulation of why the position is wrong.

FB Conversation With Aldo Leon

Today I will be sharing with you a conversation that I had with Aldo Leon on the topic of replacement theology and a meme he shared on his Facebook. My hope is that this will serve as a reminder of the strengths of dispensationalism and will also demonstrate the shortfallings of covenant theology. We are grounded by God’s Word and there it must be that we guard and protect against those that would call the Word into question.
